WORKSHOP TOPIC: FAMILY SOUVENIR AND FAMILY TRAVELS

The aim of the workshop is to create an artist’s book based on the traditional technique of Japanese theater - Kamischibai. Participants will learn how to work with a stage object, how to interpret a text and a picture, and then became familiar with such art techniques as painting, drawing, sculpture and collage as well as with a stage props. Tools and materials used during the workshop are: fabrics, paper, wooden plywood and slats.


May 19, 2019, 11.00 - 14.00: Introduction*

During the workshops participants will remind themselves their most unusual and important journeys of their life. After the brief introduction to the subject of the workshop, the instructor will explain what the Kamischibai theater is and how to work on the construction of props / art objects. The works will be carried out on an A3 bookbinding base in a horizontal position (this is important due to book animation techniques) in mixed techniques (painting, drawing). The literary part of the book will be written during the workshop by the project coordinator. Workshops are open to everyone, however the maximum number of participants is 15 people.

* Due to the celebration of the "Mosina Days", the workshop will exceptionally take place on Sunday.

May 25, 2019, 11.00 - 14.00: Continuation

At the second workshop the participants will start to work on the cover of the book, which will open the box that serves as a stage for the story being told. They will build it with wooden plywood, slats, glue and nails, becoming familiar with the technique of the theater's stage props, which they will apply to the artistic development of this box. The materials used are paint, glue, paper, textiles and cardboard.

June 1, 2019, 11.00 - 14.00: Conclusion

The last workshop will be devoted to the actor's work on stage. The participants will learn about the techniques of working with voice and text interpretation. They will take part in the acting exercises, which will help with a final presentation of the works and summarize the workshops.
