BOOKBINDING WORKSHOPS

September 28, 2019, 11.00 - 14.00; October 6 2019, 11.00 - 14.00

During the workshops the participants will be divided into two groups and together they will prepare single elements of the book. There will be a short introduction to the bookbinding techniques, to the composition and construction of the book. After the short introduction the participants will create the  elements themselves and then combine them into books. Due to the use of sharp tools, the workshop is intended for children over 10 years of age. Maximum number of workshop participants is 20.

Book block proposal: sewn with threads.Traditional, manual or glued and sewed depending on the weight of the paper. Cover proposal: hard. Materials: bookbinding CR, thread and needles, cutter knives, metal rulers (about 50 cm), bookbinding cardboard (2mm thick), 1 sheet 100x70 per book, bookbinding cloth, merla or crepe paper (1 sheet per book), guillotine - one for the entire workshop (not operated by the participants), 4 sheets of paper per liner, cutting pads.
